EBIKE SKILLS EVENT with Hans Rey, Troy Lee, LB Rads

EBIKE SKILLS is a new ebike event format developed and debuted here in Laguna Beach, California by mountain bike legend Hans Rey.

SKILLS competitions test riders technical mountain bike skills through a point-based series of challenging technical sections.

This event was held with the Laguna RADS club and friends in October ’25 in Laguna Beach, California.

Along a 6.5 miles loop riders were competing to earn points in 7 different sections along the route.

There are three different types of technical sections.
In the widow maker sections riders earn 0, 2, 5 or 10 points depending how far they get before the first mistake (dab), there are also multiple choice sections where riders have to choose between a 2, 5 or 10 point line and only get the points if they make it to the end of the chosen line. There were also 2 timed sections, enduro-style, riders get points depending on how fast they went,
